Department of Oncology, Oncological Surgery, and Radiology
The Department of Oncology, Oncological Surgery, and Radiology is actively engaged in educational, instructional-methodological, and scientific activities, as well as international collaboration.
Main Goals of the Department:
- To equip students with comprehensive knowledge in oncology, oncological surgery, and radiology;
- To teach modern methods of diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of cancerous diseases;
- To develop professional competencies needed for effective work in modern clinical practice;
- To ensure the training of interns and specialists in oncology and radiology.
Primary Tasks of the Department:
- Ensuring the high-quality teaching of oncology, oncological surgery, and radiology disciplines at an advanced educational, methodological, and scientific level;
- Preparing interns specializing in oncology, oncological surgery, and radiology;
- Implementing programs for continuous education and professional development of physicians in these fields;
- Promoting the development of clinical thinking and professional communication skills in students;
- Introducing students to the latest global advancements in oncology and radiology;
- Engaging students in scientific research, with opportunities to publish their findings and present at academic conferences.

Lectures and practical sessions are conducted in both Ukrainian and English, utilizing modern multimedia technologies. During practical training, students gain hands-on experience in diagnosing and treating cancer, applying clinical, laboratory, and instrumental methods. The department's teaching is grounded in evidence-based medicine, which helps to cultivate clinical thinking and build professional skills.
Therapeutic-consultative work is a key aspect of the department’s mission. Faculty members collaborate closely with hospitals, involving students in clinical practice, case consultations, and discussions of complex clinical scenarios. This integration of theoretical knowledge with practical application helps students gain a comprehensive understanding of oncology and radiology, ensuring their readiness for future clinical practice.
